How to decorate your bedroom into a Romantic Cottage style? The Romantic Cottage style is very similar to the shabby chic or cottage decorating style with some romance thrown in! Rooms usually include florals, soft pink and green colors, and white or wicker furniture.
A Romantic Cottage bedroom has to have a fireplace
The Fireplace was bought new and is a “must have” for this romantic bedroom. She added Cheri Blum Nosegays Wallpaper Cutouts Wallies on the panels to “pretty it up” a little.
On the mantle are some old photographs of grandparents. The black & white portrait is of Vicky in her wedding dress. The large portrait above the fireplace was found at an antique store. Those are real roses in the vase, but other times, she can use silk roses.
Antique Dresser
Floral Design Picture Collage
The Dresser was found at an antique store. She left it original, since it was already white. There’s a rose scent candle with a rose candle topper sitting on the dresser along with two marble base lamps, and some other vintage items she picked up here and there.
The Picture Collage prints are from a book of prints bought on sale and the frames came from Wal-Mart (on sale also)!
The Bench was on her front porch and orignally black. She painted it in the Southern Belle pink and added some floral wallies on the seat. The pillows on each end have covers made from extra fabric from the chair and ottoman. The pillow in the middle is aShabby Chic rose cross-stitch.
The Chandelier has roses and crystals. She ordered this online and the pink was more “peach” than she wanted, so she painted the roses in Southern Belle pink also! She also uses silicone flicker candelabra bulbs, which make the lights appear as very realistic candles. It adds another romantic touch to the room!
The Rose Trellis
A Rose Garden in the Bedroom!
The Rose Trellis was originally on the front porch. There were no longer any roses on it, so she took it down and put it in the bedroom! It needed paint, but she left it in it’s shabby state, and added silk rose garlands. She also used rose garlands above the windows.

The Fairy behind the bed is holding a bouquet of roses. (This is a lamp!) And, of course, Vicky always has a rose scented candle burning, so you get the real garden effect! She loves the rose garden in their bedroom!
Romantic Cottage Bed Linens
A Featherbed gives a soft, comfy look!
The Romantic Cottage Bed Linens she purchased include a featherbed (from Bed, Bath, & Beyond), a Matlasse bedspread (used, from antique store), Victoria Rose quilt (new, from a country store), crocheted pillow shams (from Wal-Mart) and a vintage rose print pillow (from Target).
Antique Chest & Mirror
Rattan Sewing Table
This Chest of Drawers was handed down from a grandparent. Vicky painted it in Cottage White enamel and painted the drawer pulls in Southern Belle Pink. On top she has a couple of vintage tea pots and a bird house.
The Mirror was purchased new at Lowes. The frame was originally silver, but she painted it in the Cottage White to match the chest.
The Rattan Table in front of the window, by the bed, is a sewing table she purchased at an antique store. It makes a great night stand for the hubby as it has a compartment underneath to keep magazines or books. On top she has placed an antique alarm clock and bowl of rose potpourri.[via]

Love the white chest of drawer, fits with the mirror nicely.
